Helmsley Park Lane – 07-05-08

By far one of the best parts of djing in new York City is being able to connect
with people from all over the world through music, and to learn about different cultures in the process.
On Saturday we were at the Helmsley Park Lane Hotel at Central Park South for a wedding in which we were able to spin Armenian, Greek, Arabic, Russian and French music in addition to merengue, salsa, funk, latin pop, swing, soul, r &b, 80s, disco, roots reggae, etc.  The trick with playing so many different types of music is figuring out beforehand where everything will go, and how to transition between the styles with songs that can be used as bridges.  Fortunately we had assistance and were excited to see the evening unfold.

Sean and Dan did an awesome job DJ’ing our wedding!

Great music, great timing, great announcements, especially good considering the multicultural/multilingual nature of the songs and guests.

Have also heard lots of great feedback from many of the guests (including a few asking if they were Armenian!)

Thanks again for a great party!
