Here is the slideshow from Studio 450 where we were last weekend for a wedding. The space has amazing views and is a suitable location particularly if you have a lot of guests coming from NJ given it’s serendipity to the West Side Highway and the Lincoln Tunnel. There was a Hora which you can see photos of as well as many others. The setup there was a bit tricky as we had to run cables through the window from one floor to another and layout wise a good spot for a private party or wedding.

We were at Gustavino’s again last night for a private party. It’s such a great space, I didn’t notice last time that the second floor rumbles when trucks drive by over head as it sits right beneath the Queensboro bridge at 60th and York. Also there is an interesting reflection of the Roosevelt Island sky car that goes by the windows as you sit on the second floor, for all those photographers out there. We had a fun night, played merengue, latin pop, soul, funk, r & b, hip hop, disco, classic rock, roots reggae, trip hop, acid jazz and latin soul. I’ts been a while since we’ve djed an event with someone elses speakers/ amplification system and I was reminded at how poor non-powered speakers sound when they are not amplified properly. Put that at the top of the list of questions to ask. There’s really no reason to use anything other than JBL Eon G2 speakers for these types of events unless, which is most often the case, the company is cutting corners and cheaping it out with a non powered system. Also I have not solved the problem with the camera raw files, Photoshop, and Flash discolorization so pardon a few of the photos. Ok that’s my boring tech talk for the day! Here are the photos…
