One If By Land, Two If By Sea is a carriage house in the West Village next to Barrow Street Alehouse. It’s an American/ French restaurant but can also be rented out for private parties, wedding receptions and ceremonies. It has historical landmark status (built in 1835 I believe) so there are no signs permitted on the facade. Inside it completely transforms you back in time, with two fireplaces and a grand piano by the front window. There is also a beautiful garden in the back courtyard which adjoins the main restaurant area. If you’re looking for a very low key space (no dance floor) to have a party this is a nice spot. I’ll post additional photos tomorrow when I have more time.
Here are some of the tracks we played, some of their requests and a few of our choices.
Steady As She Goes – Reconteurs
Lagos Communique Thievery Corporation
The Start of Something – Voxtrot
No Hay Manera – Akwid & Mimoso
Marcus Garvey – Burning Spear
The Sun – Burning Spear
Ethanopium – Dengue Fever
Rise Up – Samantha James
In Crowd – Ramsey Lewis
Riot on an Empty Street – Kings of Convenience

One if By Land is a nice intimate restaurant. My friends and I get dinner there once in a while and the food is excellent.

You guys did an amazing job at the fashion show. Our designers sent excellent feedback especially for the diverse mix of music you played and how the show closed. It was so much better than last year and you were a key component. Looking forward to seeing you spin the maritime next week. Huge favor, can you pass along the playlist?
Thanks
Jordan
