Love this compilation, it’s listed as disco from Belgium but covers a Cosmic-balearicrange of genres from house to funk to italo,  It’s the perfect album to listen to while working or riding the train. Every song is good, my top two favorites are Stratus – Footprints and Home Run – Killer Storm.

Been listening to this album all week, so good. Afrobeat in all honesty took me a while to get into, and have developed a deeper appreciation for it after going through so many compilations and seeing the documentary on Fela Kuti.  Seun Kuti is Fela’s son and Eqypt 80 is Fela’s legendary afrobeat band.  Seunkuti_eqypt80   My top 3 tracks on this album are Many Things, Don’t Give that S&*t To Me and Think Africa, but again this is another album good all the way through.

Calypsoul 70: Caribbean Soul

The album is labeled as Carribean soul and calypso but really moves all over from roots funk, disco funk, afrobeat, roots reggae, steel drum style calypso. The fourth track, Calypsoul, captures the Calypsoul70_caribbean_soul essence of the album, jazzy horns, funky light feeling island soul music. Another great album all the way through, my top 2 favorite tracks are 1. The Revolution Of St Vincent – “The Little You Say” and 4. Clarence Curvan & His Mod Sounds – “Calypsoul”.
