This is a gorgeous acoustic track by Hawaiian guitar duo Hapa, which means “half” in Hawaiian. Nice background instrumental music for this amazing New York City weather.
That really is a great track. Very mellow and relaxing, but with a melody that is upbeat and sunny. I wish I had that song in my car’s CD player to chill out to when I was looking for a parking spot this morning in Brooklyn! As someone who loves the diversity of music in NYC, I’ve been a fan of your blog a long time. Keep posting those great musical gems you find!
Thank you so much for the kind words and the compliment. It means a lot! It’s great to hear from other music afficionados who appreciate the music. It’s why I keep this going.
Olinda Road is a beautiful song and melody, but that is because it is the same song as “Little Martha” written and performed by the late Duane Allman in 1971 and published on the Allman Brothers’ “Eat A Peach” album in 1972. It was hailed then as a beautiful song and possibly the most perfect guitar song ever. Check out the Wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Martha) and listen to the song and you will see that this is true. It is the same song.
