What we’ve been hearing from other small businesses, friends and corporate clients is that many people are holding off scheduling their private parties or weddings until 2010 because of the economy. This year more than any in the past five years in New York City people are booking their events earlier (9 months, a year or more) so that they can plan accordingly and save.
Often companies are scaling back or not having their parties at all due to budget constraints in 2009, or not wanting to appear lavish while layoffs and cutbacks are happening. (Sean wrote an extended post on scaling back corporate parties here. ) 2010 is only 6 months away and our dates are beginning to fill up quickly. Some of my photographer friends have indicated the same, and many of the venues are being booked up for 2010 much earlier (the foundry – LIC, Music Hall of Williamsburg, Bubby’s, etc). So if you are interested in us for 2010 please contact us today.
