Here are the photos from Saturday night, we played a mix of latin soul, northern soul, roots reggae, motown, salsa, r&b, hip hop, latin jazz, verve jazz in addition to some modern chart hits. The view from the patio over looking St. Patrick’s cathedral is amazing and on the other side you can see the ice skating rink at Rockefeller plaza. If you are planning on having an event there be sure to allocate ample prior to the event for security check in.

We can’t say enough nice things about these guys!! They were amazing and made our wedding a kickin event. Every song hit the right note at the right time. Our guests wouldn’t stop talking about how perfect the music was and how much fun they had because of it.

As mother of the bride it gave me great pleasure in hearing from my friends and family for weeks after about how much fun they had, especially because of DJNYC. A great mix of great music orchestrated by these guys. I know I danced the entire night away surrounded by the guests. FANTASTIC EVENT, and the DJs made it happen! THANKS for making my kids event spectacular!!!!

What’s the difference between roots reggae music and dance hall reggae music?
I’m doing my paper on the difference between roots reggae music and dance hall reggae music and I want to know the difference and the different artist involved in both and I also want to know where can I get some primary sources on both of the topics.

What would qualify as the very first Reggae song recorded ?
I know some will say do the reggae by Toots and the Maytals. I’m looking for the beat that came closest to reggae it may not have necessarily been classified as reggae, but listening to it would have felt like reggae.
