I started twelve years ago djing with vinyl at house parties and private events and over the years have dj-ed fashion shows, sporting events, nightclubs, film premieres and various corporate events. Each event has its own idiosyncracies and I started this website to share music suggestions and event photos.
The hits and popular radio songs are everywhere, this site is focused on finding or sharing those gems from all over. Some may work at events, others more for private listening. For events we are a part of we always custom tailor the playlist, collaborating with the client on their tastes and prefences, and delivering exactly what they (and their guests) are looking for.
The DJ New York City event guide is managed by Sean, the other founder of djnyc. It is guide on how to navigate the chaotic world of event production and management in New York City, with some music recommendations as well.
