Track of the day - Ecoute!
Heard the song Ecoute mixed by Carmen Rizzo this morning, really like it.

The supposed huge snowstorm that was going to blanket New York City has (surprise!) turned to rain. I'm grateful because we have another event in Rockefeller Plaza tonight and adding snow, Christmas and rush hour to the trip will make it 3 times longer. Plus the security for the building that houses Rainbow Room and all the other venues there is really bad, Tischman Speyer, they never seem to get the paperwork correct and invariably keep you waiting outside to go in the garage and unload, and to retrieve your equipment. I understand the need for additional precautions but they are the worst by far. Anyone who has been a part of events in 45 Rockefeller will tell you the same.
On to more fun things, been listening to Udnerworld's latest album Oblivion which has some gems, my favorites are
Glam Bucket and To Heal

Hotel Buddha Sunset Terrace was released this week. I think the two best tracks are Numaro's "First Iconand Still "Perished"

Let's start with the weekend with some sultry ambient electro with FC Kahuna - Hayling.

This is a good compilation, I like the first five tracks and one of my favorites is Rosalia de Souza's Mais which is the first track on it. Towards the middle and end of the compilation it gets a little too electronic/ abstract for my taste, although I do love the Field's album in addition to Booka Shade which many have told me is too repetitive for them.

Ypey is on a few Ibizia/ Buddha Bar compilations, remind me a little of earlier LTJ Bukem with a a jazzy, ambient feel. They play them occasionally on the KCRW Nocturna show as well. My favorite track so far which kind if fits the day today in Manhattan is Peaceful Day.
