djnyc Arabic playlist

Here are some tracks pulled from playlists from Arabic events we've dj-ed.  There are a range of tracks here from more uptempo dancing to cocktails to more traditional Arabic songs.  Lebanese artist Nancy Ajram is one of the most popular singers in Arabian music and Alabina modernizes traditional Arabic songs with a latin flavor.  DJ Nader has some amazing Arabic remixes as well which are not on Itunes but you can find them on Amazon. This is by no means a comprehensive list just a sampling of some Arabic music and is not necessarily specific to any one country (Morocco, Algeria, North Africa, Lebanon, etc.).  There isn't any arabic house, more uptempo electronic dance music or newer arabic pop music on this list, will post that one in December.   For now here is the Itunes playlist.   For more in depth articles on Arabic music please visit the articles here.

Lucky Cheat - Lebanese Blonde

Back after a mini vacation from the dj schedule.  Have been listening to a lot of arabic music, OM lounge, Hotel Costes, Cafe Del Mar and various other compilations lately.  Will post an Arabic cocktail playlist a little later this week, found some amazing gems.  Although much of the earlier Thievery Corporation I don't listen to much anymore mostly because I overplayed it to myself, found the original of their remaster of Lebanese Blond by an artist called Lucky Cheat.  The Thievery version is close to this, they laid over some effects and reverb but essentially very similar.
