This is a great idea, there have been numerous instances of glasses dropped and bottles broken on the dancefloor, usually by accident, when a party is going off. It’s always a concern seeing women take off their heels to be able to continuing dancing, and this is an inexpensive way to help everyone stay comfortable (and safe) while still being able to party. When will some shoemaker on the planet design elegant, somewhat lifted heels that are comfortable enough to be able to dance the entire night wearing?

Recommended: Wedding @ Queens County Farm Museum

I was bummed to hear Bernie Madoff’s scheme had a direct impact on a great little gem about 20 minutes from New York City, The Queens County Farm Museum. I’m sure we’re just hearing the beginning of all the people he’s hurt along the way but the fact that he’s managed to take down non profits, charities and organizations already struggling makes it even tougher to hear. So, here’s my recommendation for another venue very close to the city to add to our list that you might want to have your reception at, especially if you have a lot of kids who are going to be there. I believe it’s $1200 to rent the room and you can have up to 125 people in the barn below, parking is a breeze and they have shuttle buses as well. Staff is very nice and helpful and you really do not feel like you are in New York City. If you want to have a less expensive reception and also help a gem along the way consider the Queens County Farm Museum. More photos here and here.
